Whatever style of dance our students chose, following an examination structure contributes to the delivery of first class dance training. Exams provide dancers with a goal to work towards and through our classes we help them achieve it.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is a world renowned, highly reputable dance examination board, providing training for dance teachers and examiners since 1904. We chose the ISTD because it’s equally suitable for students dancing for recreation as well as those with the aspiration to make dance their profession.

In addition to working towards a goal, the process of examinations also cultivates discipline and determination, heightens self-esteem and finally provides recognition and reward for a student’s efforts. ISTD also enables our staff to keep up to date with the latest dancing styles and techniques ensuring your child receives the very best training.

Marie and Katie take great joy in seeing students develop strong technique and artistry by working towards examinations.

It’s also worth noting that students looking to continue their general education beyond GCSEs can also receive UCAS points for their ISTD qualifications so not only can dance provide a break from the rigors of revision, it can also support the wider goal of securing a place a university.
